Biography:
Currently employed by Nu Skin Enterprises as the Senior Director of Corporate Purchasing, Bill has 26 years experience in purchasing, supply management, and inventory control. His duties include responsibility for all 'indirect' purchasing activities, assets, services, and M.R.O. supplies for the $1.2 billion personal care, nutrition products, and technology direct selling company.
After graduating from B.Y.U., a short stint as a Department Manager with Grand Central Stores lead to an interest in buying. A native Texan, Bill moved back to Texas and worked as an Inventory Planner with Vector Cable/Schlumberger in Houston. The next move took him to Dallas as Stores and Purchasing Manager for Texas Industries, Inc, then the largest cement production company in Texas. His trail also includes two experiences as Purchasing Manager in the gold and silver mining industry in southern Colorado and Winnemucca, Nevada with Pegasus Gold Corporation.
In 1991, an opportunity to lead the Purchasing Department at Nu Skin brought him and his family to Provo, Utah. Bill earned his C.P.M in 1990, and lifetime C.P.M. certification in 2005.
His favorite activities include simply negotiating deals for Nu Skin and in personal life-negotiating for the purchase of a car is way up there as a fun activity. Bringing supply chain best practices and new technology efficiencies in purchasing to the company also keep interest in the profession high. Working with great people in the purchasing and supply chain profession over the years has been very rewarding.
Bill and his wife Luann live in Provo with their four children-all of whom love the great outdoors of Utah-especially snow skiing, Lake Powell, the red rocks, and fly fishing. You'll find his IPOD full of a lot of country music and oldies rock and roll.
