STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER – Zions Bancorporation, SLC, UT
The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to lead and direct sourcing teams consisting of members of Zions Bancorp affiliates. Will assist in developing the teams including a team champion, assuring the teams follows the companies strategic sourcing process, as well as guiding the team through the process, all the while maintaining and building relationships with the affiliates. Will be responsible for taking a decentralized purchasing environment and centralize it for specific corporate categories, i.e. media, travel, office supplies, copiers, print, facilities, etc. Responsible to keep the team on track, deal with conflict and deliver the end savings results. Some travel will be required for this position. This position will serves as a liaison for purchasing functions. Other duties as assigned.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in business or related field and 6 plus years experience with the strategic sourcing function, purchasing, eProcurement tools including eAuctions, contract negotiations or other directly related experience. Masters and CPM preferred. Requires considerable working knowledge of, and experience with the strategic sourcing processes and trends, competitive procurement, including value analysis and purchasing. Extensive knowledge of legal contracts, contract negotiations and service agreements. Strong organizational, negotiation, listening, communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience in Vendor Relationship Management. Demonstrated sound judgment, decision making and management skills. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to resolve conflicts and problems. Manage and implement cost initiatives. Proficient in computer software including, word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, eProcurement tools, etc. Implementation of procurement systems is a plus.

Plans and orders materials, services and all non-production items via purchase requisitions to meet organizational inventory and internal customer requirements.  Provides centralized purchasing support for other North American business sites
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Purchases assigned commodities, consistent with established policies and procedures, in support of the organization’s requirements for various materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Exercises originality and judgment in recommending adaptations and/or substitutes
  • Reviews requisitions and verify information is valid (i.e., supplier vendor code and pricing).
  • Approves requisitions, apply a purchase order number and input into the Purchasing system.
  • Quotes and purchases all equipment in support of the organization.
    Corresponds with the Finance group concerning all orders
  • Coordinates purchasing program with Parent Company to leverage scale on high volume items
  • Evaluates market conditions and trends and develop specific short/long range commodities plans, goals and objectives.
  • Reviews and evaluates all options and alternatives for cost reduction, utilizing professional experience and changes in technology, design and market conditions.
  • Resolves all parts issues such as shortages, availability, and schedule changes.

Required Skills:
